Benefit Hockey Game in Stavely Scheduled for February 8, 2026
Stavely, AB – February 6, 2026 –
The local hockey community will come together to honor the lives of players Caden Fine, JJ Wright, and Cameron Casorso, who have tragically passed on February 2, 2026. A benefit game will be held on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at 6:00 PM at the Stavely Arena, 5004 51 Avenue, Stavely, Alberta.
This benefit game is just one of the ways the community will honor the players. A larger memorial event for the wider hockey community is already being planned, and details will be shared as soon as they are confirmed.
In the meantime, an online silent auction is being organized, and donations are welcome. Drop off locations are at the Stavely Arena. Calgary & Red Deer locations will be confirmed shortly.
Additionally, there will be two donation options available: one to support the families directly, and another to help the team cover travel costs to attend their teammates’ funerals. Donations can be sent to the following emails

And may also be sent by cheque to Nanton Mayor Jen Handley’s Po Box- PO 1702. Every cent of the donations will go directly to the respective recipients.
Media Access: Media are invited to cover the event, with access beginning at 3:30 PM for setup and interviews. A designated media parking area is available at the north entrance of the arena, and a liaison will guide media representatives to their designated area.
Filming & Photography Guidelines:The media may capture B-roll of fans entering the arena and portions of the game. Approaching players, player families, or billet families is not permitted.
Interviews including the Mayor of Nanton, A billet parent, a team representative, and a player parent. Unscheduled interviews with families or players are not allowed.
