The Southern Alberta Mustangs are proud to announce a new affiliation partnership with the Ontario Jr. Reign of the NCDC.
The Ontario Jr. Reign are the defending Pacific Division Champions, having won the title for the second time in three seasons, and have established themselves as one of the premier development programs in the USPHL. With more than 40 alumni advancing to higher levels of junior, college, and professional hockey, the OJR possess a proven track record of player advancement.
Ontario Jr. Reign Head Coach & GM Jeremy Blumes shared his optimism regarding the partnership:
“Calgary is home for me, and having an affiliate in close proximity to my hometown makes a lot of sense. Having coached Ethan Fraser — who was a true student of the game — and knowing Lisa is an owner who is in this for the right reasons, this felt like a natural fit.”
As part of the partnership, the Southern Alberta Mustangs will assist in identifying and recruiting players for the upcoming Surf & Turf Showcase in Saskatoon, helping continue to build a strong development pathway for Western Canadian players.
